What Time of Year are the Best Television Deals?

If you are tired of that antique taking up space in your entertainment center, it might be time consider a new LED, LCD or Plasma screen TV. Fitting a new TV into your budget isn’t always easy but if you time it right you can find some extraordinary deals on top brands. While it is up to you to decide on the best television for your home, here are the best times of the year to purchase your new TV.

The Beginning of the Year

January is commonly regarded as an excellent time to find a new TV. Retailers offer enormous discounts on the latest models that they weren’t able to sell over the holidays. They also drop prices in order to get rid of stock before the newest TV’s are released by the manufacturers in March. Plus with the Super Bowl drawing one of the largest TV audiences of the year, most stores know that this is the time that people want to upgrade their televisions.

March Madness

It is a better idea, some argue, to wait until March for even lower prices. Waiting until March does run the risk of your favorite model selling out before you get it. With new models hitting the shelves retailers will go to even further lengths to move the inventory that is still around from the holidays and the Super Bowl. Plus, many basketball fans are looking to get the latest HD TV’s for the NCAA tournament.

The Fourth of July

The middle of the summer, specifically in July, offers another good opportunity to buy your new TV. When most people are getting outside or hitting the beach, retailers will drop prices as an incentive to bring people inside their stores. Also keep an eye out around holiday weekends like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July for themed sales that offer significant price drops.

Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving is one of the best days to buy just about anything. Black Friday sales can save you hundreds of dollars off of brand new televisions and electronics. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wake up extremely early and fight your way through the crowds, but it could pay off in savings of up to half-off of regular prices.

Cyber Monday

If you’re not an early riser or don’t do well in crowds, ordering online on Cyber Monday is a great option. The biggest online shopping day of the year provides huge discounts on a wide variety of tech and electronics. While the prices aren’t quite as low as Black Friday prices, and you’ll have to wait for delivery, this is still an excellent time to find your new TV from the comfort of your own home.
